The council shared a statement urging people in the LS8 postcode to "stay safe".

The LS8 postcode covers a Gipton, Hollin park, Oakwood, Gledhow and Roundhay and parts of Harehills.

A spokesman for Leeds Council said: "There has been a rise in the number of cases of COVID-19 in the LS8 area – please Stay Safe.

"The council and public health are calling for people in this area and across Leeds to work together to help prevent the virus spreading.

"A mobile testing unit has been made available at Fearnville Leisure Centre and people with symptoms can book a test there and at other locations in Leeds.

"Please continue to play your part in keeping yourself and others safe by maintaining social distancing and following the latest advice.

"If you or anyone in your household has any of the symptoms of coronavirus, please book a free test immediately by telephoning 119 or online."
