Cases of the Delta variant of Covid-19 first identified in India have risen 46 per cent in a week across the UK, new figures show.

Here are the Leeds areas with the lowest Covid rates in the city

Public Health England (PHE) said there had been 35,204 more cases since last week to reach a total of 111,157 – a 46 per cent increase.

Leeds recorded an infection rate of 283.7 in the seven days to June 23, the latest available figures. That's up 42.4 per cent from the previous week.

But some neighbourhoods have much lower infection rates.

Roundhay West recorded less than three Covid cases in the seven days to June 23. When an area records less than three cases, the infection rate is not shown to protect the identity of those infected.

Harehills South recorded three new cases, that’s a rate of 35. It’s down 25% from the previous week.
Farnley East recorded five new cases, that’s a rate of 77.1. It’s down 50% from the previous week.
Belle Isle South recorded five new cases, that’s a rate of 87.4. It’s up 150% from the previous week.
Garforth South, Swillington & Little Preston recorded six new cases, that’s a rate of 88.4 . It’s down 53.8% from the previous week.
Aberford, Barwick & Thorner recorded six new cases, that’s a rate of 93. It’s up 50% from the previous week.
Beeston East recorded eight new cases, that’s a rate of 93.6. It’s up 33.3% from the previous week.
Middleton Town Street recorded eight new cases, that’s a rate of 101.4. It’s up 100% from the previous week.
Lincoln Green & St James recorded 12 new cases, that’s a rate of 130. It’s up 20% from the previous week.
Drighlington & Gildersome West recorded 11 new cases, that’s a rate of 131.9. It’s the same as the previous week.
