Heartbreak as much-loved nurse who worked at Harrogate hospital dies from coronavirus

A much-loved nurse with more than 30 years of service, including two years at Harrogate District Hospital, has sadly died from coronavirus.

Zauma Ekoli, 55, a mother-of-five from Leeds, also fondly known as Josie, was a popular and much-admired agency nurse who worked across a large number of wards and departments at Harrogate hospital, and the district's NHS Trust has paid tribute to her outstanding contribution and dedication following her devastating death on April 13.

Chief nurse at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust, Jill Foster, said: “Zauma Ekoli, known as Josie, was a much-valued agency nurse who has worked with the Trust for the past two years. She worked a range of shifts in a number of wards and departments.
