NHS England confirmed the deaths in figures released on Thursday, December 17.

It releases updated figures each day showing the dates of every coronavirus-related death at hospitals in England, often including previously uncounted deaths that took place several days or even weeks ago.

Deaths occurred at the following hospital trusts:

Airedale NHS Foundation Trust - 1

Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust - 6

Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 7

Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust - 4

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 6

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 2

Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust - 3

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust - 1

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust - 1

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 1

The current Covid death toll in Yorkshire hospitals is now 5,469.

The total across Leeds hospitals is 651 deaths.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for Covid in England.

Today's figures show 360 deaths across English hospitals.

Since Tuesday, April 28, NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result, but where Covid-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
