Further 28 Covid-19 deaths recorded at Yorkshire hospitals

A further 28 people have died in Yorkshire hospitals after testing positive for coronavirus.

NHS England confirmed the deaths in figures released on Monday, December 14.

Recorded deaths are often lower on Mondays due to reporting delays over the weekend.

Deaths occurred at the following hospital trusts.

Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 3

Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust - 2

Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust - 3

The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust - 5

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust - 1

The current Covid death toll in Yorkshire hospitals is 5,347.

The total across Leeds hospitals is 636 deaths.

NHS England publishes the number of patients who have died in hospital and tested positive for Covid in England.

Today's figures show 179 deaths across English hospitals.

Since Tuesday, April 28 NHS England and NHS Improvement also reports the number of patient deaths where there has been no Covid-19 positive test result, but where Covid-19 is documented as a direct or underlying cause of death on part 1 or part 2 of the death certification process.
