First Direct Arena release coronavirus update after event cancellations in Leeds

First Direct Arena have released an update after events were forced to be cancelled by coronavirus.

Following official government advice issued on Monday March 16, a number of promoters and organisers have taken the decision to postpone or cancel their events.

Ticket purchasers are being contacted by their point of purchase with the relevant information, First Direct Arena said.

In an email sent to customers, FDA said: "TICKETS FOR RESCHEDULED EVENTS WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE VALID FOR THE NEW DATE, THERE IS NO NEED TO CONTACT YOUR POINT OF PURCHASE.

"As a result of the high volume of cancellations and rescheduled events both the arena and our official ticketing partners Ticketmaster are receiving an unprecedented volume of calls and inbound messages. We thank customers for their patience.

"Ticketmaster have created a comprehensive information portal that will be kept up to date with changes to the status of all impacted events and customers are encouraged to check regularly.

"Ticketmaster have also updated their FAQ page.

"If an event is cancelled ticket refunds will be processed automatically and there is no need to contact your point of purchase.

"If an event has been rescheduled and you cannot attend the new date you will need to contact your point of purchase. Ticketmaster customers are advised to check the information portal in the first instance.

"Thank you for your continued understanding and support during these extraordinary times."
