Campaigner Lizzie Jones to top bill at West Yorkshire event for inspirational women

Lizzie Jones will tell women at a conference this week about the lifesaving campaign she started after the death of her rugby league player husband Danny.

She launched the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund, to buy lifesaving equipment for community and junior rugby clubs across the country, after the Keighley Cougars player died from an undiagnosed heart condition in May 2015.

She will speak at the Be Inspired free networking event organised by Yorkshire Ladies Links at Wetherby Racecourse on Wednesday.

Lizzie said: “I love the idea of the conference because it’s an opportunity to tell my story whilst meeting lots of inspirational women all on the same day.”

Yorkshire Ladies Links founder, Leeds businesswoman Melanie Malcolm, said: “We have experts exhibiting from all areas such as banking and marketing, through to health and fitness, as well as stallholders selling fashion and beauty products. It’s all about inspiring women and raising the profile of amazing people, like Lizzie, who go above and beyond every day.”
