The Spain international scored a quickfire double in the latter stages of the Whites’ 4-0 win over Burnley at the weekend to take his goals tally to six for the season – including three in his last two outings.

Despite his recent purple patch, however, the 30-year-old has struggled with injuries at times this term, and has been limited to just six appearances since the end of January.

But Morrison is confident that he can continue to shine for Marcelo Bielsa’s men, and is predicting big things from the forward in 2021/22.

Speaking on Sky Sports News, the former Crystal Palace striker said: “Rodrigo, the first goal [against Burnley], the touch is fantastic and then the finish, the composure to dink it over the goalkeeper, is outstanding.

"It’s the touch that makes the goal. It’s a brilliant finish.

"He is a player. Leeds fans haven’t seen the best of him. I watched a lot of him in Spanish football, and he is going to be a player.

“He’s going to enjoy playing at Elland Road in front of a packed stadium and that.

"He’s had a lot of injuries this season, but we’ll see the best out of him playing closer to Patrick Bamford next season.”

Rodrigo arrived at Elland Road from Valencia for a fee of around £27 million.

During his time with the Spanish side, he registered 59 goals in 220 appearances.
