After over a year of lockdowns, and months of wet, chilly weather, the sun is finally smiling down on Leeds - and this looks set to continue throughout the half term school holidays.

The Met Office is forecasting a week of sunshine and warm temperatures, just in time for families to get out of the house and make the most of everything Leeds has to offer.

The week kicks off on Bank Holiday Monday with temperatures of up to 23C and largely cloudless skies forecast by The Met Office.

Tuesday may start off a little overcast, but by lunchtime the sun will be cracking the flags once more, with clear skies predicted for the afternoon and evening - and highs of a toasty 23C.

The week then starts to cool off just slightly - but don't worry, it's still set to be a scorcher.

Wednesday is expected to see highs of 22C, while on Thursday the mercury should climb to around 21C. Both days are anticipated to be cloudless and dry, apart from a potential shower late on Wednesday night.

Friday and Saturday are both predicted to have maximum temperatures of 20C, with some cloud overhead, while Sunday will start off cloudy, with sunny intervals by mid-morning, and highs of 19C.

Now get out there and enjoy the sunshine!
