Female cyclist seriously injured on Kirkstall Road after collision with driver

A woman has been seriously injured after a collision with a driver on Kirkstall Road.

It happened just after 8.30am this morning (Thursday) at the junction with Viaduct Road.

The collision was between the driver of silver Vauxhall Astra and a 23-year-old woman on a bicycle.

She was taken to hospital by ambulance with injuries that were serious but not thought life-threatening.

Police closed the road for around two hours while they conducted investigations.

It was reopened just after 10am.
