I can’t remember the last time I went shopping in Harvey Nichols and didn’t make a beeline for the Fourth Floor Restaurant. It’s the ideal spot for admiring your purchases, whilst simultaneously drowning your sorrows thinking about your next credit card bill.
The arrival of their new seasonal small plates menu served in the brand new 4th Floor Bar gave me yet another excuse to return, and I can confirm they have rustled up an absolute treat for even the fussiest of foodies. We enjoyed some Chilli Crackers and Caramelised nuts from the snacks section as we perused the small, yet well edited menu.
The Cured Salmon is divine and 100 per cent hipster friendly with the addition of avocado mousse, beetroot, puffed rice and horseradish. Another lighter dish worth trying is the Salt and Pepper Squid, which comes with straw chips and vinegar powder.
For something a little more calorific, then head for the Beef Tartare. Served with malthouse sourdough and beef dripping butter, it will do nothing for your beach bod, but your taste buds will thank you. The miniature Lamb Burger with chorizo jam and goat’s cheese is also worth a look-in.
We finished up with the rich Pecan Chocolate Brownie with vanilla mascarpone, and the Strawberry Sugared Doughnuts with chocolate sauce and basil Chantilly cream. I left on a personal promise to hit the gym twice as hard next time, but was it worth it? Oh yeah!
