Leeds resident Danny Anderson, 26, owns 42 The Bakehouse on Town Street, Farsley with his brother and a business partner.

The cafe served a range of hot food and desserts and was loved by Farsley residents - with many queuing out of the door pre-Covid before it closed.

However, due to other commitments and the current outlook in the country for business, the cafe has now sadly been put up for sale, Danny told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

He wanted to thank their loyal customers as rumours of the announcement spread across social media - stating the sale was 'their only option' due to the situation.

Speaking to the YEP, Danny said: "We had the choice to keep [the cafe in] Farsley open.

"However it wouldn’t survive, so it’s our only option really.

"I just want to thank the customers for all their support from opening until now."

The cafe will reopen shortly if allowed under restrictions while a buyer is sought, Danny confirmed.

Many businesses in Yorkshire have been affected by the Covid pandemic - with closures announced across the county.

Loc Bui, 46, and Paula Cooper, 48, closed their popular restaurant Bistro Saigon after 16 years at the heart of the Ilkley community due to the devastating impact of the virus.

"We just could not continue making a loss week on week, with no end to the hospitality Covid restrictions in sight.", Paula told the Yorkshire Post.
