Oliver Awards: Deadline for entering 2017 awards is midday on Monday November 21

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s Oliver Awards are now in their ninth year.

They celebrate all that is good about the local dining scene and have become one of the most widely recognised and respected awards ceremonies for the Yorkshire dining sector.

The awards are based on our no-nonsense weekly restaurant reviews, which are published every Thursday in the WOW pullout section of the YEP.

This year, there are 16 categories to enter, covering everything from street food to fine dining.

Next Thursday will see the publication of a special supplement in the YEP, listing all the nominees, followed by a shortlist to be published in January, while the actual awards ceremony itself will take place in March, which is when the winners will be announced.

Nicola Furbisher, Editor of the Yorkshire Evening Post and Managing Editor of the The Yorkshire Post, said: “The awards began from humble beginnings - to celebrate those who work hard in the local dining scene in and around Leeds. It’s an opportunity each year for us to shine a light on all those people working behind the scenes.

“Leeds has really earned itself a formidable reputation on the national dining scene. Last year, the city celebrated Michael O’Hare’s The Man Behind The Curtain winning a Michelin Star, the first the city has had in a decade.”

The deadline for entering will be midday on Monday.
