The company will close all UK warehouses until further notice - including the ones at Bradford and Pontefract.

Online orders will also be stopped.

This is due to concerns raised by warehouse staff about having to work during the coronavirus pandemic.

In a statement on the Next website, a spokesman said: "From 6pm this evening, Thursday March 26th, we will not be taking any more online orders until further notice.

"We have listened carefully to our colleagues in our warehouses and distributions operations.

"It is clear that many increasingly feel they should be at home in the current climate.

"As a result, we have taken the difficult decision to temporarily close our warehouse and distribution operations until further notice."
