Meet the luxury catering company providing delicious spreads for stars including Leeds United's Stuart Dallas
Business is booming for a luxury catering company in Leeds which has put on delicious spreads for the city's rich and famous.
Oula was launched to cater for big events and family dos, but founder Megha Gulati had to rethink her strategy when the pandemic hit.
She launched her Friday Night Feasts, a meal-for-two delivered straight to customers' front door.
The dine-at-home experience was so popular over lockdown that the company added takeaway-boxed catering to the menu.
From rainbow-coloured sliders filled with homemade falafel and spicy Asian cheeseburger, to Middle Eastern mezze and grazing platters, Oula’s food is healthy and packed full of flavour.
The company has brought its colourful spreads to dining tables across Leeds, including the homes of Leeds United s Stuart Dallas, renowned bridal make-up artist Shama Malik and BBC Interior Design Masters finalist Siobhan Hannah Murphy.
Megha said: "Oula food is about fun and big flavours and that really comes across every time we cater for a client.
"Our table styling is simple and fresh, ensuring the food really is the star of the show."
Megha had worked in food marketing and advertising before taking the jump to set up her own business.
"Our keen eye for detail means that working with food comes easily to us," the 35-year-old added.
"Starting a boutique food catering business was the natural next step, though we initially had to find new ways to get people to try our amazing food because of pandemic restrictions.
"Our aim is to take the hassle out of dining, especially for those who are hosting. We have been very lucky to get some amazing clients that have supported us on our catering journey.”
Now Covid restrictions have eased, Oula also offers a table set-up service at venues and homes, where they can prepare the full spread ahead of a party or event.
The menus include Middle Eastern, Pan Asian, Indian and European cuisine, as well as desserts such as baked fudge donuts, all cooked from scratch using locally sourced ingredients.
Megha added: "The colour combinations in our lux grazing tables and mezze spreads always look really vibrant and inviting.
"For us, it’s all about combining a passion for eating with quirky styling to provide an experience that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but that also tastes fresh and amazing.
"We love creating the ultimate wow factor for our clients.”
