Leeds 25-year-old chef Dale Spink announces opening of new Horsforth high street restaurant Brontaè’s
A Leeds chef has announced the launch of his first restaurant - due to open on Horsforth town street.
Dale Spink, who is just 25 years old, has worked hard for the last 12 years to build a hugely successful personal business combining D's Meal Prep and Le Voyage Dining Experience, with hundreds of Leeds residents as customers.
Together with business partner and industry expert Mark-Hamilton Smith, 40, Dale has now announced his first venture into the restaurant trade - with the launch of Brontae's, named after his daughter.
The restaurant is set to be developed on the site of former premises The Forge on New Road Side and is due to open in February 2021.
Dale, speaking exclusively to the Yorkshire Evening Post, acknowledged the 'crazy' timing of the announcement in the middle of the Coronavirus epidemic.
However, he said his dreams have finally come true and aims to "revitalise" the restaurant industry in Horsforth.
Dale said: "We are opening our bar and restaurant now because it is the right time after such a bad 2020 for everyone.
"I think more than ever we miss the social events such as dining or having a drink more than ever.
"We also are opening as we want to take dining & drinking back to the “old school” ways. where service and customer service goes above and beyond, so you can really enjoy every moment when at Brontaè’s.
"We think this is also a chance to revitalise the hospitality industry.
"We know mental health is a massive thing around now, after this year it’s bigger than ever.
"When we open in 2021, we want people to focus on that “treat yourself” moment.
"We all need to show ourselves self love and self reward, we all deserve it.
"We want to make sure everyone who comes to us feels that 'treat yourself' moment even more."
Dale is a professionally trained chef who has created two businesses despite his tender age.
His meal prep service is used by top Leeds based athletes and celebrities.
Dale said this was a huge step in his career.
He added: "If you know me, you know how driven, motivated and hard working I am, and how much this means to not only me, but my family too."
