Join the technology giants at The Yorkshire Post Business Club

TECHNOLOGY BUSINESSES will be a vital driver of economic success in Yorkshire, according to the head of one of the region’s most valuable software businesses.

Chris Spencer, chief executive of EMIS Group, is headline speaker at a forthcoming event hosted by The Yorkshire Post Business Club and telecoms firm aql in Leeds.

He will be joined by the chief financial officer of Callcredit Information Group, Bob Munro, and the founder and CEO of aql, Adam Beaumont.

Mr Spencer said: “The good news is that the digital economy is not confined to London and the South East. Recent research shows that 74 per cent of digital businesses are based outside the capital and both Leeds and Sheffield are already well established hubs for excellence in healthcare technology, financial technology and data services. The opportunities are many.”

EMIS Group is the UK leader in connected healthcare software and services. The Leeds-based company listed on Aim in 2010 and is now worth £665m.

Callcredit is the Leeds-based provider of consumer data solutions, software and analytics. GTCR, a Chicago-based private equity firm, paid a reputed £500m for the company in 2014.

The free breakfast event on Tuesday November 24 will look at the opportunities and challenges facing technology businesses of all shapes and sizes in Yorkshire.
