Nathan Dalton has been under the wing of Tonie Browne and Amy Wright - who own the Jax barbershops which include hairdressers based in Headingley and Farsley - for the past 18 months.

After rising through the ranks, Nathan has now been trusted to be the manager of a new barbers based in a former sandwich shop in Pudsey centre - less than two years after graduating from the Jax training scheme.

Nathan is hoping the shop - titled Jax Lowtown - will be open in September.

He told the Yorkshire Evening Post the new barbers was a 'no brainer'.

Nathan said: "Jax Lowtown was something that came naturally.

"Obviously I’ve only been cutting hair for a year and a half but I’ve fit in so well with Jax and the ethos of positivity and forward thinking it was a no brainer that my next step in the industry had to be with Tonie & Amy who are the directors of Jax."

"I’ll be the Owner/Manager and director of Jax Lowtown, effectively it’s a partnership between myself and Jax that allows me the freedom of having my own shop whilst being part of such a successful brand in its 2 years of operation."

Nathan is excited to have his twin brother on board from day one after seeing his rapid development from plumber to barber in the space of just a few months.

He added: "To start with I’ll be putting 5 chairs in, I’ve been teaching my twin brother Kieran to cut hair since February and obviously with a pandemic it halted things but he’s really thriving.

"He’s got a chair there the day we open, I promised him a way out of plumbing and there it is.

"He’s just got to project manage the shop renovations first."

Nathan said he couldn't wait to return to the roots of his hometown and meet new clients.

He said: "It was a case of having a conversation of ‘would I’ and after speaking to a couple of people very close to me I decided just to go for it, within four weeks we’d decided it had to be Pudsey.

"It’s where I’m from, we'd found the shop and had a deposit down within that time frame and it all moved fairly fast.

"I’d like to say a massive thank you to all my friends, family and colleagues for the mindless amount of support and love I’ve received since day one of this journey."
