Donate to help the homeless for Leeds's St George's Crypt

Every Christmas Eve a group of volunteers from the Yorkshire Evening Post and Yorkshire Post join the team at St George's Crypt to help serve meals to those in need.

The volunteers also provide 100 rucksacks containing warm clothing and essential toiletries - and they are inviting readers to donate some of the items needed to fill them if they wish.

Items needed include shampoo, shower gel, deodorant (no aerosols), toothpaste, toothbrushes, and sanitary products.

Pictured is former Leeds Rhinos legend Jamie Peacock, who previously helped to serve up food at the crypt, which works from St George’s Church in Leeds city centre.

Donations can be dropped off at the YEP reception, fourth floor, 26 Whitehall Road, Leeds, LS12 1BE on weekdays between 10am-3pm. The last day for donations is Tuesday, December 18.
