Travelodge reopens two Leeds hotels with some big changes due to coronavirus

The budget hotel has fast-tracked its phased reopening this week, with its Leeds Bradford Airport and Colton hotels now taking bookings.

Travelodge has invested millions into a Covid-19 safety and social distance programme, TravelodgeProtect+, designed to keep customers safe from coronavirus.

New measures have been introduced at the Leeds hotels including additional cleaning, hand sanitiser stations, protective reception screens and signage to mark out social distance points.

PPE has also been provided to all staff members and housekeeping will not longer enter customers' rooms during their stay.

As current regulations ban hotels from serving a buffet breakfast, Travelodge has launched a new version of its breakfast box that customers can buy from reception or online.

The recyclable box includes cornflakes with semi-skimmed milk, a flapjack bar, pain au chocolat and orange juice.

Travelodge spokeswoman Shakila Ahmed said: “We are delighted to reopen 11 more of our properties in Yorkshire.

"The hotels are open for business from this week and the team are set for a busy summer season as we welcome customers back.

"With safety at the forefront of our business, we have worked closely with our hotel teams that stayed open during the lockdown, government and industry bodies to develop our new Covid-19 safety programme called TravelodgeProtect+.

"This safety programme is designed to keep our customers and teams safe and has been implemented into all Travelodge hotels.”
