Following the news that VE Day street parties had been cancelled, Morrisons designed the Afternoon Tea to help the nation celebrate the landmark anniversary at home.

The box will be delivered, contact-free, to homes across the country ahead of VE Day on Bank Holiday Friday and in time for the Nation’s Toast to the Heroes of WW2 at 3pm.

Customers can either order a box for themselves or send as a gift to another address.

David Potts, chief executive of Morrisons, said: “We’re playing our part in feeding the nation and that includes being there for customers in times of commemoration and celebration.
