Leeds Rhinos said: “We’re proud to be able to give back to all the key workers who have, and continue to, selflessly go above and beyond for others throughout the pandemic.

“Our involvement in the ‘Leeds Says Thanks’ scheme is a just a small gesture of our gratitude for all those who have supported the city in their professional roles.”

Venues to have signed up so far include Sheaf St, The Tetley, The Wardrobe and the Key Club, while events like Slam Dunk Festival are also participating.

Council leader James Lewis said: “In Leeds we have such a fantastically diverse and colourful cultural scene which unfortunately has been hard hit by the pandemic. But with signs of normality returning and doors beginning to reopen, it is exciting to see so many local businesses and organisations come together in saying thanks to NHS and frontline workers for their tremendous efforts over the last 16 months.

“I’d like to once again offer my thanks and appreciation to each and every one of them for their truly heroic response to the crisis and hope these special offers will give them something to look forward to.”

The scheme is set to run until November 2021, with updates on special offers and discounts being shared using the hashtag #LeedsSaysThanks on social media and via the dedicated www.leeds.gov.uk/LeedsSaysThanks page.
