While the pub’s accommodation which includes a twin, double and two single rooms, has been rated as “superb” and giving a 9.1 rank by Booking.com.

According to Mr Hemingway, the business’s success is largely down to its friendly staff and expert chefs who make use of the freshest local ingredients.

“Food now makes up about 40 per cent of our business – we even attract customers from some of the nearby hotels who want to dine with us.”

The pub is located just five miles from the heart of Leeds and a stone’s throw from the Leeds-Wakefield road and oozes traditional character with cosy décor, natural brickwork and a well-stocked bar.

Behind the scenes is a professional kitchen and masses of storage space, including an outbuilding, plus private staff accommodation.
