Vintage fair at Lotherton Hall in east Leeds

VISITORS to Lotherton Hall being invited to step back in and time to enjoy all the fun of the 50s and 60s this summer.

The summer vintage fair at Lotherton Hall estate in Aberford takes place on August 20 and 21 and will include live music, dancing, classic cars and outdoor games.

Judges will be on the lookout for visitors in fancy dress, with spot prizes for the best 50s and 60s outfits on the day and the chance for one person to win free entry if they arrive in a pre-1960s vehicle.

And for the second year in a row, Rose and Brown Vintage will be on site with 25 stalls selling vintage fashion, homewares, small furniture and collectables from the 1920s to the 1980s.

Coun Brian Selby, Leeds City Council’s lead member for museums and galleries, said: “Lotherton is a place immersed in local history that has played such a key role in our city’s heritage over the years, so it’s the perfect place to wind back the clock and experience a taste of what life was like in times gone by.”

Coun Selby added: “Summer is always a special time at Lotherton, with a fantastic programme of activities and I’m sure this vintage fair will be one of this year’s highlights.”

Lotherton Hall offers an annual membership that gives visitors unlimited entry to the estate, including the bird garden, the house and grounds.

Family membership for two adults and up to three children is priced at £42 with adult membership costing £19 and couples £31.50.
