The City Varieties Rock ‘n’ Roll Panto is back this year with the cast raring to go for the festive season’s grand performances.

This much-loved brand of panto has been delighting families for the last three years and is all set to open this weekend with Dick Whittington.

The family show has everything you would expect from a traditional pantomime – slapstick comedy, audience interaction and outlandish costumes – with the bonus of a rocking soundtrack and the now-legendary ‘boulder fight’.

“Our Rock ‘n’ Roll Pantos are hugely popular and are now, in their fourth year, a Leeds’ tradition,” said Ian Sime, general manager at City Varieties.

“The incredible atmosphere has audiences dancing in the aisles and because the soundtrack is played live on stage there is a real party atmosphere.

“You won’t see anything like this anywhere in Yorkshire.

“It’s a real treat.”
