Post Music - Celebrating 20 years of The Leaf Label

Based in the Leeds suburb of Hosforth, it’s been a launchpad for the likes of Efterklang, Susumu Yokota, Wildbirds & Peacedrums and Caribou. Last year its release In Each and Every One, by the British jazz group Polar Bear, was nominated for the Mercury Prize.

To mark its 20th anniversary Leaf is staging a series of gigs at Headrow House in Leeds, featuring Melt Yourself Down, Polar Bear and Matthew Bourne and Tom Rogerson; it is also releasing a limited edition vinyl and CD box set featuring 10 of its key albums.

In this special interview for Post Music, founder Tony Morley talks about the label’s history and looks to its future.
