The four-piece have enjoyed a spectacular year of success on the back of their fifth studio album A.M. which has brought them solid recognition in the USA on a wider scale for the first time. Sunday night’s performance in front of an estimated crowd of around 60,000 fans at Bramham Park brought the curtain down on their performances in support of the million-selling album.

As often happens at music festivals, there was a fair share of wet weather to go around, more so on the Friday and Saturday, although that did not stop revellers enjoying themselves into the small hours across the four days.

Queens of the Stone Age, Paramore and Blink 182 were the other headline acts on the main stage this year, but there was the usual helping of bands and acts to provide something for everybody’s taste - however obscure.

A number of local bands also had the opportunity to impress festival goers – many on the BBC Introducing stage – while Sheffield’s Drenge – who have enjoyed a pivotal year in their emergence to a wider audience - packed them into the NME/Radio 1 tent with a blistering 40-minute set on Saturday afternoon.

Phil Harrison caught some of the action on Saturday afternoon, as well as taking to members from two Leeds-based bands – Dancing Years and GirlsOnDrugs – who impressed the crowds on the BBC Introducing stage on the second full day of action.
