This is how Gogglebox stars Pete and Sophie are related to Yorkshire TV royalty
Gogglebox has established itself as a firm favourite on our screens since it started airing in 2013.
Among the current favourites on the Channel 4 show are Pete and Sophie Sandiford, who first started appearing in 2017.
The brother and sister duo, who live in Blackpool, are known for their quick wits and hilarious commentary on the latest telly offerings.
They seem to have funny bones - and when you realise who they are related to, it comes as no surprise.
The pair are actually the great-niece and great-nephew of none other than Rotherham's own Chuckle Brothers, Barry and Paul.
An adorable family photo has re-emerged on social media of a young Pete and Sophie with Paul and Barry, who sadly died with cancer.
Sophie paid tribute to her relative at the time, writing: "A truly lovely and funny man to be around. You filled millions of childhoods with laughter and entertainment including mine and Peters. You will be sadly missed by many. Rest in peace Uncle Barry. Lots of love from me, to you."
Barry died aged 73, with Pete honouring his relative as he wrote: ‘We are lucky enough to call him Uncle Barry."
Pete and Sophie attended his funeral in Rotherham in 2018.
In 2019, Paul shared a picture of himself with Pete and Sophie, referring to them as his "great niece and nephew".
The Chuckle Brothers - Barry David Elliott and Paul Harman Elliott - were the stars of BBC slapstick children's comedy series ChuckleVision from 1987 to 2009.
