Leeds City Council bins: Everything you need to know as tips and collections set to resume

Leeds City Council has announced plans to resume some of its bin collection and waste services.

After the city went into lockdown, the council closed all tips and suspended brown bin collections.

But there are now plans to resume key services by the end of May.

Green and black bins have been collected as normal throughout lockdown.

The council has praised its bin crews for their 'amazing work' in keeping collections running, despite reduced staff numbers.

Garden waste (brown bins)

After lockdown was announced on March 23, Leeds Council suspended the collection of brown bins.

Collection remains suspended for now, but the council has announced plans to resume brown bin collection later this month.

Collection is scheduled to resume on Monday, May 25, but this is subject to change.
