Leeds river rescue as man spotted in water near The Calls

Emergency services were alerted just after midnight when the man was spotted in the water near The Calls.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service (YAS) said members of its specially trained Hazardous Area Response Team were among those involved in today's rescue.

Hide AdThe team's members are trained to treat and rescue injured people in dangerous environments such as collapsed buildings or crashed vehicles.
They also provide emergency treatment during operations where patients are trapped or in places where access is difficult such as underground or in water.
A YAS spokesperson said: "We were called just after midnight to reports of a male in the water on The Calls, Leeds.
"We dispatched an ambulance, clinical supervisor and the Hazardous Area Response Team to the scene and the patient was conveyed to Leeds General Infirmary."
