Fire service release urgent update as roads closed due to ongoing huge fire

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service were called to Upper Castle Street in the East Bowling area at 3.09am on Monday, November 16.
More than 100 firefighters from across West Yorkshire are tackling the scrap tyre blaze on Upper Castle Street, in the East Bowling area of the city.

Hide AdRoad closures are in place and trains have been cancelled on lines between Bradford Interchange, Halifax and Leeds.
Some local schools have also closed.
Smoke from the massive blaze has blown eastwards towards Leeds.
The following roads have now been confirmed as closed by the fire service:
Spring Mill Street junction Manchester Road
Parmer Street from Spring Mill St
Wood Road at the end of Spring Mill Street
Upper Castle Street junction Ripley Street
Bowling Old Lane junction Manchester Road
Mill Lane from Manchester Road
Mill Lane from Bolling Road
Ripley Street from Manchester Road
Ripley Street from Ripley Road
Nelson Street junction Caledonia St
Fitzwilliam Street junction Mill Lane
Bowling Old Lane junction Ripley St
No one is thought to have been injured in the fire.
