Terror attack: Leeds civic buildings to be lit up in Union Flag colours
Coun Judith Blake, leader of Leeds City Council, said: “On behalf of Leeds City Council and the city of Leeds I want to express our heartfelt support for and solidarity with the people of London in the wake of this despicable attack. London is an incredible city where people of all creeds and cultures co-exist successfully in cohesive communities- values we share here in Leeds.
“We are writing to the Mayor of London Sadiq Khan to demonstrate the strength of our support. We have opened a book of condolence and holding a minute’s silence before the start of our full council meeting next week. Leeds is a resilient, welcoming city where understanding and compassion go hand in hand and we are continuing to work with our friends and partners in communities across the city to ensure it remains that way.”
