Police have issued an urgent warning to parents in West Yorkshire after children were spotted starting fires - while emergency services deal with a huge moorlands blaze.

Officers in Batley said they had attended reports of fires being set by youths in Heckmondwike for the second night in a row.

Both incidents have also forced the fire service to attend to deal with the situation.

Police said this is happening "just as fire officers have spent the last week battling an out of control fire in the Marsden Moor area".
