Leeds County Arcade reopens after masked armed robbers raid Philip Stoner in Victoria Quarter

Armed suspects raided Phil Stoner The Jeweller, in the Victoria Quarter, at about 10.30am this morning.Police were scrambled to the scene after the men escaped in a getaway car, and County Arcade was closed to all customers.
Officers guarded a large police scene earlier today - but by 5pm this was removed.

Hide AdCounty Arcade has reopened and all jewellery has been removed from Phil Stoner.
There is no visible damage to the shop front but the window displays lay bare.
The manager of a shop nearby, who did not wish to be named, witnessed the armed robbery
She said: "It's really concerning and my thoughts go out to the staff at the jewellers."

Hide AdAnother worker said: "It's really scary - these aren't just shoplifters, these are armed men.
County Arcade is closed as police investigate the incident
"And in broad daylight now as well, it's happening more and more. I'm just so glad no one was hurt."

Police are particularly keen to speak to anyone who filmed the robbery on their phones.
