Elderly victims tied up and attacked on Clara Drive as crowbar wielding thugs steal safe

It happened at about 10pm in Clara Drive in Pudsey on Wednesday, September 30.
Three men who were armed with a crowbar entered the house.
Once inside, they tied the man and woman up.
They made threats towards the victims, who are both in their 70s, and also hit the man.
The burglars stole a safe containing jewellery and cash.
They then fled the scene in a vehicle.

Hide AdOne man, aged 32, has been arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
He has released under investigation.
Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information about the men or the safe.
The safe is described as around two feet high and two feet wide, green in colour and old made of cast iron.
It will be heavy, weighing around 80 kg in weight.
The men are described as white, wearing dark clothing, gloves and face/head coverings.

Hide AdDetective Inspector Vicky Vessey of Leeds District Crime Team, said: “This was a particularly nasty burglary in which two people aged in their 70s have been the victim of a terrifying ordeal.
“Although thankfully no one was seriously injured it was obviously a distressing incident for them both and thankfully this type of burglary – and the level of violence used - is rare in Leeds.
