Arrests for drug driving and theft in Leeds during night of action for Roads Policing Department

Arrests for drug driving and theft were made during an eventful night in north west Leeds for the roads policing team.

One vehicle was also seized and a total of nine tickets were given for driving while using a phone, driving without insurance and not wearing a seatbelt.

The action was taken by West Yorkshire Police when patrolling the north west area of the city last night (Monday).

A spokesperson for the force said this morning (Tuesday): “Last night, we received assistance from our colleagues in the Roads Policing Department, who were tasked with patrolling the Outer North West Area.

“It was an eventful shift, getting the following results:

3 x Tickets for no MOT 2 x Tickets for using a handheld device whilst driving 1 x Ticket for no insurance 1 x Ticket for not wearing a seatbelt 1 x Vehicle seized for no insurance 1 x Arrest for driving whilst over the prescribed limit (drugs) 1 x Arrest of a person wanted for a theft from shop offence”
