Armed police called to house in Leeds as man attacked girlfriend and made threats with knife and saw

Shane Mitchell bit an officer on the thigh after he was arrested in the early hours of October 29 last year.
Leeds Crown Court heard Mitchell and his partner had spent the evening drinking, smoking cannabis and taking cocaine.

Hide AdGraham O'Sullivan said the couple argued and she left the property to go for a walk.
They continued arguing when she returned and a neighbour dialled 999 because of the noise.
When officers arrived the woman was heard to shout: "I need to get out. He won't let me out. I need to get out."
The prosecutor said Mitchell, 32, attacked the woman in the bedroom, punching her to the head.

Hide AdShe managed to get away and ran to the door where she saw the officers.
He picked up a large kitchen knife and began pacing up and down.
Armed officers were then called and an attempt was made to force the door.
Mitchell picked up a large bow saw in a bid to prevent the officers entering.

Hide AdThe officers forced the door and pointed a taser at Mitchell.
He gave himself up and was handcuffed.
He bit the officer on the thigh during a struggle and a baton had to be used to restrain him.
Mitchell, of Rydal Drive, Morley, pleaded guilty to affray and assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
He had 17 previous convictions for offences including assault and criminal damage.

Hide AdAlex Menary, mitigating, said Mitchell pleaded guilty to the offences at an early stage and wished to receive help to address his drug use.
Mr Menary said his client would also like to apologise for the injury he caused to the officer.
He was jailed for 58 weeks.
