Dogs Trust Leeds has put together a list of some of the playful pups that are cared for at the rehoming centre.
The centre, in York Road, looks after the dogs until they are ready to move into their new home.
This month, among those looking for a new family are two-year-old Lurcher Lucy, who loves people and can never get enough attention.

7. Coco
Two-year-old Coco is a French Bulldog who is looking for a home through no fault of her own and is currently living with one of the centre’s foster carers. She loves her toys and will happily come for a snuggle on the sofa. Coco is dog social, but can become frustrated seeing dogs out and about, so does need to walk in quieter areas. Photo: Dogs Trust
Chase, a five-year-old French Bulldog, is super playful but would need his adopters to slowly get to know him through regular visits the centre. Photo: Dogs Trust
Six-year-old Rocket is a Shar Pei Vizsla Crossbreed who has been patiently waiting to find his forever home for quite some time now. He’s a fun and playful dog who really likes his toys. He’s got a few anxieties around meeting new people but the team have developed a great introduction plan. Photo: Kevin Johnson KJ PHOTOGRAPHY
Are you a true Collie lover looking for a fab young dog to have loads of fun with? Skip is only 18 months old and although he’s a little wary of the big wide world, he’s proving that with patience and consistency his confidence is growing and he’s becoming a very affectionate boy. Photo: Dogs Trust
Missi is a six-year-old Lurcher who forms a very strong, loving bond with her family. She needs to get to know people properly before she will show her true character but she is worth the wait. Photo: Kevin Johnson KJ PHOTOGRAPHY
Reg, one of the centre’s underdogs (dogs who have been waiting to be adopted for more than six months and may require a little extra training) has been adopted and left the centre at last. After being found as a stray back in the summer of last year, he has been patiently waiting for the right humans to spot his potential, but this month he’s finally been given his chance.
