Nurses from Leeds Beckett and the University of Leeds are making the step up to Aspirant Nurse early this month in the wake of the current worldwide crisis. Here, we celebrate and hear from those who are starting work for the Leeds Community Heathcare NHS Trust now instead of September.
1. Oliver Tull
"All the staff have been so welcoming and proactive in getting us settled. I am so grateful for all the hard work theyve put in, as well as Leeds Beckett University, in getting us out into practice in these unprecedented times."
2. Emma Marsh
"I feel lucky to be pursuing a career where I can do something I enjoy while helping to make a difference. I am nervous but excited. Its a good opportunity to gain experience and help to provide the care people need.
3. Lauren Southwell
Lauren is graduating as an Aspirant Nurse.
4. Lou Villa
I've wanted to be a nurse ever since I was young. I did a nursing degree in the Philippines. I am caring and find a sense of joy and love taking care of the people I love, and those I came to look after during my placement.
5. Sammie Diggle
Sammie is graduating as an Aspirant Nurse.
6. Liliana Gabbiadini
Whilst I am nervous, I was eager to begin work and join the team supporting patients through these turbulent times. The patients we see are incredibly grateful for the work we do, my family and friends have been so supportive.
