Figures released by NHS England on Tuesday, May 5 record '5' confirmed new deaths in Leeds hospitals.
This data reflects deaths from the latest reporting period which is 5pm on Monday, May 4.

Hide AdOne person died on April 30, two people died on May 1 and two people died on May 3.
This brings the number of Covid-19 deaths in the city's hospitals to 255.
Across Yorkshire, a further 52 coronavirus deaths have been confirmed in hospitals.
This brings the total number of deaths in hospitals in the region to 1,932.

This is because of the time it takes for deaths to be confirmed as testing positive for Covid-19, for post-mortem examinations to be processed, and for data from the tests to be validated.
