Ahead of an open evening on November 3, Mr Jordan Macrow from Allerton Grange Sixth Form has written an open invitation to potential students and their families.

At Allerton Grange Sixth Form, we have a love of learning and are passionate in supporting our students to achieve excellent exam results and to have a broad range of experiences, enabling them to secure places at world-renowned universities, and on elite training programmes.

Our Sixth Form is a welcoming and inclusive environment, with many opportunities for students to learn, grow and develop into confident and articulate adults. As a smaller Sixth Form, we have excellent pastoral care which is carefully considered to ensure your welfare, personal growth and development, to allow you to feel confident and supported in accessing the Sixth Form and the curriculum.

You can choose from a wide range of A level options. All post-16 courses are taught by subject specialists, so you will be able to explore your chosen subjects, grow in independence and develop the essential skills and knowledge you need to succeed. With smaller class sizes your subject teachers will go that extra mile to work with you and ensure you get the results you need.

We support students to enhance their personal development, through twice weekly enrichment activities. These activities provide you with the skills and the character required to be successful in higher education and aspirational employment. Examples are British Sign Language, the Progression Module, the Extended Project Qualification, Film and Media Analysis, Pachamama Project, Book Club and Conversational French. Alongside this, we offer extra-curricular activities to enrich the taught curriculum, including the provision of the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award.

The Aim High programme at Allerton Grange provides extensive guidance for students who wish to apply to Oxbridge, UCAT or the Russell Group universities.

Top results

We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 leavers and the results of all of their hard work. In summer 2022, our A level results bucked the national trend and we saw an increase in students achieving the highest grades. Our students achieve, on average, grades 20% higher for A levels and 40% higher for Level 3 Vocational subjects, compared to similar students nationally. This year, students progressed onto university courses at universities including the University of Cambridge, University College London, the University of Edinburgh, the University of Sheffield and the University of Leeds. For Allerton Grange, 23% of students go on to study at Russell Group universities, compared to 15% in England.

Within our Sixth Form community, you will be encouraged and supported as an individual, to achieve your ambitions and progress to your chosen university or career.
