From eating and drinking with friends indulging in all the new menus the city has to offer, to feeling like you're abroad with a cooking class, Leeds is home to so many great things to do:
1. Ibiza beach club at The Light
The Light will host its own Ibiza style beach club this weekend. Set on a giant outdoor beach, you can enjoy a bottomless brunch in your own undercover dining pod. Each pod seats six people where you will get to experience a taste of Ibiza in Leeds. The bottomless brunch is brought to you by Fleur and includes a gorgeous choice of tasty kebabs on a skewer, pretzel burgers and bottomless prosecco. The bar will be set up on the beach offering a beach style service, including mouth watering cocktails and a selection of beers. Heart FM will be playing Ibiza style tunes across the day from the beach club.
2. Leeds Record and Book Fair
There is a record fair with books at Leeds Kirkgate Market on Saturday (May 8) from 10am to 4pm with 55 tables of vinyl records and 15 tables of books and some CDs.Records include rock n roll, soul, punk, psychedelic, new wave, prog, heavy metal, jazz, funk, blues, indie, hip hop, house, techno, reggae, folk, latin, afrobeat and classical. Entry is free.
3. Chow Down
Open on Saturday and Sunday, you can eat, drink and socialise at the ever-popular Chow Down at Temple Archies in Leeds. This weekend's music line up includes Aletha Sara Garvey on Saturday and Sally Byrant, Balearic Social and Stephanie Pullen on Sunday. You can grab a bite to eat from Sticky Beaks, Fat Annies, Paisano What The Cluck, Big Mouth Gyoza and Scoop.
4. Totally Roarsome
Having launched its Leeds home last weekend, Totally Roarsome is a new woodland adventure for the whole family to enjoy. It's located at Hazlewood Castle and is open through to the summer - with bookings being taken now up until July. It boasts seven themed zones - including Jurassic Land, Jungle, Arctic, Candy Land, Neverland, Superheroes and Fantasy Land. Tickets must be pre-booked. (photo: Totally Roarsome)
5. Leeds vegan market
Tomorrow's (May 9) vegan market at Leeds Kirkgate Open Market will feature up to 40 stalls selling a variety of ethical and sustainable products brought by local businesses and top artisans from further afield. There will be food stalls, eco-lifestyle brands, luxury cosmetics, ethical clothing, jewellery, crafts and charities. It will run from 10.30am to 4pm. (photo: Leeds City Council)
6. Leeds Walking Tour
Here you can find out what makes Leeds the city it is today. The Yorkshire Blue Badge Guide will show you where the city began and the enchantment of the old and historic Leeds. You'll be shown the modern vibrant city as you time travel through the impressive array of old and new buildings. You will marvel at and enjoy one of the largest covered markets as you weave through hidden alleys and arcades. Bookings are to be made via Eventbrite for an 11am start today at the Black Prince Statue.
