Leeds commuter route closed after man is seriously injured UPDATED
Stanningley Bypass was closed after the man, in his 50s, was involved in a collision on the Bradford-bound carriageway close to the exit for Pudsey shortly after 5pm.
Several police cars, along with the Yorkshire Air Ambulance, were called to the scene where the man was conscious but suffering from serious injuries.
He was airlifted to Leeds General Infirmary for treatment.

Hide AdPolice were yesterday continuing to investigate the circumstances of the accident, but witnesses reported that the man had been hit after stepping out from the verge at the side of the road, on a section of the bypass that is subject to the national speed limit.
There were major tailbacks as the accident was cleared.
The Leeds-bound carriageway was reopened shortly after 6pm, with Bradford-bound traffic resuming a short time later.
