High street bakery Greggs - best known for its sausage rolls and steak bakes - has started selling lower fat pasties after seeing a significant uptick in business from customers looking for healthier options.

The retailer is selling a katsu chicken and vegetarian Bombay potato pasty that both come in at under 300 calories and meet green or amber traffic light labelling requirements for fat, saturated fat, salt and sugar.

The company posted a 6% rise in sales to £422 million while like-for-like sales lifted by 3.8% during the six months to July 2.
