Wilsons Butchers on Austhorpe Road aimed to put the alternative meat on menus at homes across LS15 by selling it as a barbeque special in 1998, a year in which the community had cause for celebration for different reasons. Some won money, others won a car while others were chosen as a rugby league mascot on the big stage.
