Leeds United moved into the top 10 of the Premier League table on Monday with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace – and one man who again caught the eye was Raphinha.
Over the weekend, Football Insider claimed Liverpool were keeping tabs on the in-form Raphinha after being left “blown away” by the Brazilian.
This story has now been developed by Spanish outlet Fichajes, which states Jurgen Klopp is preparing a £35million offer when the window reopens.
Raphinha joined Leeds at the beginning of the campaign for £17million has firmly hit the ground running, so emerging interest will come as no surprise to Whites fans.
If the Reds’ potential bid is genuine it “will be difficult to give up”, apparently. That is why, according to the report, Marcelo Bielsa already has a replacement in mind.
The player mentioned is Bayern Munich’s on-loan midfielder Douglas Costa, someone who “meets all the requirements for Bielsa”.
The 30-year-old, who has struggled for form and to nail down a regular starting spot in Germany, has no plans to return to parent club Juventus.
It is claimed Leeds would use the funds from Raphinha's sale and meet Juve’s valuation of the former Shakhtar Donetsk man.
Meanwhile, the Whites are once again being linked with Harry Wilson, as per WalesOnline, who quoted The Athletic.
A clutch of Premier League clubs have been put on red alert with Liverpool reportedly ready to cash in Wilson at the end of the season.
Aston Villa and Leeds United were touted with a swoop for the Wales international last summer, while a last-minute move to Burnley fell through.
Respectfully, you’d presume it is unlikely the Whites or Villa would return for the 23-year-old once his loan spell at Cardiff City expires as they have simply moved on to bigger and better things.
