Heavy Woollen/Wharfedale Triangle: Cup competitions awash with goals despite downpours

In the Heavy Woollen Challenge Cup, Roberttown Rovers progressed to the next round after Austin Broadbent, Adam Williams and Mathew Bolton all netted in a 3-1 win over Birstall Cricket Club, who replied through Elliot Williams.
Linthwaite also made it to the next round after they won 3-0 at St John Fisher.

Jonny Mitchell hit a brace for Old Bank who also had Tom Frizzell, William Evans and Oliver Rounding on the score sheet.
Ravanswharfe and Snowdon drew 3-3 after full-time in their tie, Danny Craven (2) and Ryan Smith netting for Ravenswharfe and Irfan Ali, Atif Basharat and Noman Hussain scoring for Snowdon after 90 minutes.
Ravenswharfe ran out 5-4 winners after penalties.
Another game settled from the spot saw Clifton Rangers Reserves win 5-3 against Overthorpe Sports Club after penalties.

Dom Simpson (2) and Steve Hadden put Overthorpe in control but a late fightback saw Clifton earn a draw and progress via spot kicks. Deighton WMC also won, hammering Wike Horse 10-0.
Wire Works climbed to second place in the Championship after they won 2-1 at The Yorkshireman thanks to strikes from Liam McManus and Craig Smith. In Division One Inter Batley moved nine points clear at the top after winning 6-1 at Clifton Rangers Athletic.
n In the Wharfedale Triangle League, Keighley Town moved three points clear at the top of the Premier Division with a 2-1 success at third-placed Old Ball in the only top-flight game played.
In the only Division One game, second-bottom Rawdon were defeated 5-3 at Keighley Crusaders who are up to seventh.
League Cup action dominated with Yeadon Athletic safely through after a 3-2 success at Shipley Town.
