Dateline: December 12, 1985: three girl singers with their sights on stardom were all set to join a host of Leeds talent at a Christmas charity show to help young people in Chapeltown.
The girls, who called themselves Silk Cut, were: Carol Beckles, 22, of Louis Street, Eileen Morton, 22, of Hamilton Gardens and Erma Norford, 18, of Hamilton Avenue, all in Chapeltown.
