Marcelo Bielsa Bournemouth next manager ‘stance’ as former Leeds United boss holds ‘talks’

Bournemouth are 'exploring a move' for former Leeds United boss Marcelo Bielsa. That's according to The Athletic, who have reported that the Cherries' hierarchy met with new prospective owner Bill Foley in Las Vegas this week.

Discussion around a new manager has been high on the agenda for the Premier League side, who face Everton this weekend and sit 17th in the table and two points adrift of Leeds.

Bournemouth sacked Scott Parker in August but interim manager Gary O’Neil is not expected to take permanent charge, with the prospective new owner reportedly having Bielsa on his list of next potential managers at the club.

Meanwhile, Sky Sports have reported that Bielsa and Bournemouth have 'held positive talks' and that the Argentine is 'open to the idea of working on the new-look project on the south coast'.

Bielsa left Leeds in February and was replaced by Jesse Marsch, who helped ensure Premier League safety. But Bielsa is still adored by fans who hold him in such high regard for bringing back top-flight football and for the quality of play that was on display at Elland Road during his tenure.
