Strictly journey over but all eyes on what Leeds boxer Nicola Adams does next - the YEP says

During a time of change and uncertainty the magic of Strictly has transported us to a world of escape.

So it is sad that our very own trailblazer Nicola Adams has been forced to hang up her dancing shoes so soon in the competition.

Nicola and her partner Katya Jones have been forced to exit Strictly Come Dancing after the professional dancer tested positive for coronavirus.

The boxing star said she was “gutted” to be leaving the competition but that safety measures are in place to keep everyone safe.

The Olympic boxer from Burmantofts made history as she became part of the BBC show’s first same-sex pairing.

Our very own trailblazer has made the city proud once again with her efforts - and she has managed to make her own little piece of history once more.

We’re now looking forward to see what our Golden Girl will pack a punch with next.
